Hanami Rules

Things you are not supposed to do (is all common sense) during-in a hanami:

  1. Don’t break cherry tree branches
  2. Don’t shake the branches and cause the petals to snow down on you (when it happens naturally is called 花吹雪 “hanafubuki”)
  3. Don’t take more space than you need
  4. Don’t leave your garbage behind
  5. Don’t barbecue where it’s prohibited
  6. Don’t put your tarps on the walkways or other places where they might get in the way
  7. Don’t stay up till late in residential areas (during hanami. of course)
  8. Don’t use the toilet in places that are not toilets
